Do fruits have special meanings, or representations like flowers and names do?

Because I'm writing something [just for fun] and it would make it a whole lot less frustrating if they did. Is there a site I can go to for representations and such?

Do fruits have special meanings, or representations like flowers and names do?
I know that the apple is considered a representation of the divine feminine, because when you cut an apple open around its circumference, you get a five pointed star, which is the symbol of the goddess Venus.

Bananas are a male symbol, as noted

Strawberries represent love as they are heart shaped (somewhat)

There are many folk ideas as to food and its representation. Check under 'kitchen witchery' or 'sympathetic magic' for more ideas.

There is a book called "The Kitchen Witch's Cook Book" by Patricia Telesco that might actually be a good resource book for you. It is readily available through amazon.com or local bookstores. Some of the recipes in it are very good!
Reply:pineapples are for good and prosperity, and are meant to welcome guests into your home, that's why they are often in foyers and carved into banisters at an entrance.

look up symbolism, or get a book from the library on symbolism.

most fruit symbolism is biblical or greek...even figs and olives.

try the egyptian and african histories for a refreshing change.
