Making up names and there meanings?

if you make up a name for your animal can you also make up a meaning for that name? lol cuz i wanted to name my pets after names with good meaning but my friend made up the name i like so it doesnt have a meaning =[


dumb question i know but i want to know if you think it would be weird if i did that?? lol

I think it doesn't really matter if it has a meaning or not I have 3 pets and only one has a name that has a meaning. So your choice if you like it or want a meaning go for it give the pet a name with a meaning!
